Volunteer Opportunities

The Myelin Repair Foundation needs you! We are asking volunteers to help us spread the word about our multiple sclerosis research, the progress we’ve made in finding a treatment, and our ARC™ research model. It’s easy! Your activities online and offline will help us reach more people and help us bring a new treatment to multiple sclerosis patients faster than ever.

Get Involved

• Join these social networking sites:
  • Facebook: Become a fan of MRF and our Facebook Cause, add friends and family, and update your status to promote MRF!
  • Twitter: follow @MRF_Justine and @MyelinRepairFdn search for conversations about multiple sclerosis and myelin repair, help/support others when you can, retweet their posts, and share helpful information (e.g., MRF news/videos, multiple sclerosis resources).
  • MS World: An multiple sclerosis patient community with forums and chats
  • MedHelp: A patient community site with forums and chat sessions with doctors and other experts.
  • PatientsLikeMe: A patient community site that provides multiple sclerosis trackers and forums.
     
• After registering at the above sites:
  • Find multiple sclerosis patients, join related groups/communities.
  • Engage patients in conversations, help out the community.
  • Build your reputation, become an expert in myelin repair.
  • Refer others to our organization and website. Add the www.myelinrepair.org website to each of your posts to spread awareness.
  • If you have any questions about how to utilize social networking tools, please email justine@myelinrepair.org.
     
• Publicize upcoming Myelin Repair Foundation events (e.g., video-streamed chat sessions) to multiple sclerosis patient groups on social networking sites and in person.
   
• Blog about MRF. If you currently blog, or are interested in learning how, you can help us by telling others about your personal experiences with multiple sclerosis and mentioning the possibilities for myelin repair. An easy way to start blogging is by opening up an account on www.Blogger.com. Use our graphics to promote MRF on your site.
   
• Become an MRF Evangelist. Tell your friends and family about MRF, how you found us, why you are interested in our research/model, and why you support us. Share our videos. Collect donations for the Myelin Repair Foundation. Share wines that tell the MRF Story.
   
• Create art. Are you an artist? Create artistic works or crafty items, sell them at sites like www.etsy.com and send part or all of your proceeds to Myelin Repair Foundation.
  
  
• Create videos and upload them to YouTube to express your support for Myelin Repair Foundation. Be as creative as you can! Watch our videos and share with others.
   
• Develop your own ideas or strategies to help spread the word about myelin and myelin repair, and share them with us info@myelinrepair.org
